The focal point of the lower level is a striking sunken fire pit lounge, enclosed by a semi-circular stone seating wall that offers both privacy and built-in seating. Inside this “fire circle,” classic Adirondack chairs surround a central Breeo fire pit, creating an intimate gathering spot separate from the main house.

From conception to completion, our outdoor living project with Smucker's Hardscape & Outdoor Living exceeded our expectations. From our initial meeting with Mel to discuss our design ideas for our outdoor space, to seeing the images of the plans, I knew we had made the right choice for a contractor to bring this space to life. Mel saw my vision and created a design to keep our space open and bright while still creating privacy and functionality. He made recommendations that were budget-friendly but really elevated our space (like the amazing countertops for our outdoor kitchen area). The construction process was smooth and communication with our project manager Eph exceeded our expectations. The crews were professional and respectful of us and our property. We appreciate the hard work that went into turning our drab backyard into a useable space our whole family will love and enjoy for years and years to come!

We had an outstanding experience with Smucker’s Hardscape & Outdoor Living, and they truly exceeded our expectations in every way. After dealing with major issues left behind by our pool contractor, Smucker’s stepped in and completely turned the project around with professionalism, expertise, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Smucker’s corrected and completed critical work that the pool company either failed to perform or performed incorrectly. This included properly installing the all the required pool stormwater management system and removing and reinstalling the pool pavers that had been done improperly. Both items were essential to meeting township and township engineering requirements to finish the pool project even before the other work that Mel and Smucker’s Hardscape & Outdoor Living where originally planning to do.

While the original pool company refused to take responsibility for their mistakes, Smucker’s took ownership of the situation and delivered solutions that were done right the first time.

What truly sets Smucker’s apart is the quality of their work and materials. Every aspect of the project was completed with precision, durability, and long-term performance in mind. They clearly take pride in using high-quality materials and combining them with skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. The result is not only beautiful, but built to last.

In addition to resolving the compliance and structural issues yjr pool company left behind, Smucker’s completed extensive and stunning outdoor improvements, including:

I met with Mel in late spring to discuss a large backyard project that also required coordination with our pool builder. What started as a blank canvas—aside from some DIY work left by the previous owner that needed to be completely removed—quickly became something truly special. Because of the natural terrain of the yard, Mel designed an upper deck area with two patio-length steps that completely transformed the space and gave it an unmistakable resort-style feel. From the very beginning, he listened carefully to our vision and thoughtfully brought it to life, creating an outdoor living space that will become our favorite place to be.

Work began in mid-summer, and Jonathan, Ivan, Jay, and Ive were nothing short of amazing. Watching them work over several months was honestly inspiring. Everything was done by hand—nothing prefabricated—and the level of care, precision, and craftsmanship was astonishing. I found myself in constant awe of what they were able to accomplish day after day.

They removed old concrete slabs and poorly constructed pillars and replaced them with nearly 2,000 square feet of Techo-Bloc pavers, a pavilion with a countertop and two heaters, a firepit with a seating wall, and an outdoor kitchen complete with a griddle, grill, and refrigerator. Every detail was intentional, and every member of the team is a true craftsman.

We were so impressed that we added a small front-yard project to remove more of the previous owner’s DIY work and create a cohesive flow from front to back. We are beyond excited to fully enjoy this space when warmer weather arrives—it already feels like a personal retreat right in our own backyard.
